Poachers Pantry is worth the short drive out of Canberra. Booking is a good idea if you are after brunch or lunch on the weekend.
The food is a little bit fancy, but there is a kids menu with simpler options. Poachers Pantry is well set-up for families, with high chairs for meal times and lots of open green space for running around beforehand and afterwards (be careful of the unfenced pond). There is a change table in the bathroom for people with a disability.
In winter the indoor tables are warm and cosy, but on sunny days it is nice to sit outside. The restaurant is part of a working farm, so your munchkins may be fascinated by the animals, barns and farming implements on view (we drove through a slow-moving flock of sheep and alpacas to reach the carpark).
With any luck your bub will fall asleep in the car on the drive home!
